What is Venuto?
Venuto is a smart tour planner that helps you explore cities on your own terms. We auto-generate personalized routes based on your interests, available time, and transport preference. Walk, bike, or use transit at your own pace. Our goal is to save you time and money while helping you discover the best each city has to offer.
Is Venuto free to use?
Yes! The web planner is completely free. You can create unlimited routes, explore our city guides, and plan your trips at no cost. The iOS app (coming soon) will also have a free tier with premium features available for subscribers.
Which cities are available?
We currently support 19 European cities including Berlin, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Vienna, Prague, and many more. Each city has 15-30 curated points of interest. We're constantly adding new cities based on user demand.
Why Venuto
Who is Venuto for?
Venuto is for travelers who prefer exploring independently. If you enjoy walking at your own pace, stopping when something catches your eye, and learning about places as you go, this is for you. It's a free alternative for those who want flexibility.
Is it really completely free?
Yes! The web planner is free with no hidden costs. You can create routes, access audio guides, and explore descriptions of places at no charge. We plan to offer optional premium features in the future, but the core experience will always be free.
Can I start my tour anytime?
Yes! You're in complete control. Start whenever you want, pause for coffee, take a detour, or end early. There's no fixed schedule - the tour adapts to you, not the other way around.
How personalized are the routes?
You choose what interests you - history, food, art, architecture, nature - and we create a route based on your preferences. You can also adjust the duration and add breaks for coffee or meals.
What are the audio guides like?
Each place has an audio guide available in 13 languages. They share the history, stories, and interesting facts about each location. You can also read the descriptions if you prefer text. It's a nice way to learn as you explore.
Tour Planning
How does the route optimization work?
Our algorithm considers multiple factors: distance between POIs, your selected interests, available time, opening hours, and the logical flow of a tour. We create routes that minimize backtracking while maximizing the quality of your experience.
Can I customize my generated route?
In the web planner, you can regenerate routes with different preferences. The iOS app offers even more flexibility - you can add, remove, or reorder stops, adjust timing on-the-fly, and even get suggestions for nearby alternatives.
What transport modes are supported?
We support walking (for compact, intimate tours), biking (for covering more ground), and walking + public transit combinations (for flexible exploration of spread-out cities). The app shows estimated times for each mode.
How long does route planning take?
About 30 seconds! Select your city, pick your interests, set your available time, and our algorithm generates an optimized route instantly. No more hours of research or Reddit deep-dives trying to figure out what to see.
iOS App
When will the iOS app be available?
The iOS app is currently in development. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when it launches! The app will include features like audio guides, offline maps, and live navigation that aren't possible in the web version.
What's included in the audio guides?
Each place has an audio guide (2-4 minutes) available in 13 languages. They share history, interesting facts, local tips, and stories about each location. You can listen while walking or read the text descriptions instead.
Will there be an Android version?
We're focused on iOS first to deliver the best possible experience. Android is on our roadmap, and in the meantime, the web planner works great on Android devices. Sign up for updates to know when Android support is coming.
Can I use Venuto offline?
Yes! The iOS app lets you download your tour for offline use. Perfect for when you're traveling abroad without data or in areas with poor connectivity. Maps, routes, and audio guides all work without internet once downloaded.
Data & Privacy
Do you track my location?
Location access is optional. The web planner can use your location to set your starting point, but you can always enter an address manually instead. The iOS app uses location only when you're actively using the navigation features. You can opt out anytime, and we never sell location data to third parties.
How is my data used?
We only collect data necessary to provide our service (your preferences, saved routes). We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
